How Do I Meet People?

Grace Bible Church is a church of friendly, diverse people who are all at different stages in their walk with the Lord.  We strive to make our church a family church.  Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy parent, or a business person, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Grace Bible Church.

Life Group

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about each other and a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has life group Bible studies held in peoples homes. The size of the group can vary but is often anywhere from six to twelve people. Life groups by design are kept small so that people can feel at easy with sharing, studying and praying for one another. There are several life groups running and you are encouraged to speak with a pastor, staff member, board or elder to find out how you can become involved in a Life Group.

Children’s Ministry

Children are a blessing from the Lord and as such they need to be nurtured and taught what their purpose is.  If you feel called of the Lord to help with the children’s ministry, please speak with Gail Vermeulen, our Children’s ministry director for more information.  All persons working with children must submit to a Criminal Record Check, take part in Safety & Risk Management training and be interviewed by our ministry director.

Junior Youth

Junior youth, or as we call them, TWEENS are those in grades 5 & 6.  No longer kids but not yet teenagers, they are ‘in between’ two important stages of life. If you have a heart for kids in transition and would like to help in this area, please speak to Pastor Jerad Braun.   All persons working with youth must submit to a Criminal Record Check, take part in Safety & Risk Management training and be interviewed by Pastor Jerad.

Senior Youth

Senior youth are those in grades 7 to 12.  Working their way from adolescents to adulthood, they have individual and group needs . If you have a heart for youth and would like to help in this area, please speak to Pastor Jerad Braun.   All persons working with youth must submit to a Criminal Record Check, take part in Safety & Risk Management training and be interviewed by Pastor Jerad.

Young Adults

One of the best ways in which we can help support our young adults is through prayer.  These are some of the busiest years of their lives as they make the change from depending on parents to striking out on their own in careers, relationships and decision making.  Please pray for these, the future leaders of our church, government and society as a whole.

Women’s Group

Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, come together for times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.  Mentorship from older to younger women is a biblical principal that we strive for and encourage.  If you would like to connect with and be a part of the women’s ministry at Grace Bible Church, please get in touch with the church office, who can further direct you to the women’s ministry leadership.

Men’s Group

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. It is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. Currently the men’s group meets for breakfast once a month and also take part in family activities and other ‘men specific’ fun times together.  If you would like to help take part in working with the leadership of the men’s ministry, please get in touch with the church office, who can further direct you to the men’s ministry leader.

Married Couples

Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions designed by God, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. Grace Bible Church partners with The Faith Mission based out of Falkland, BC and in which you can register to attend one of two marriage enrichment weekends a year.  Many people make the mistake of waiting until their marriage is in trouble before seeking advice, instead, why not take steps to ensure you have and keep a strong marriage that is biblically based and represents the best in both husband and wife working as a team!  For more information on the Faith Mission Marriage Enrichment weekends, please contact the church office.

40’s, 50’s and early 60’s

Once you get past forty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-40 group of Grace Bible Church provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. We call this group the AAA (triple A’s), meaning, Active and Able Adults!  A ministry that currently mainly focuses on just getting out and having fun together in a God honoring way.  We try to plan an outing or activity once every 6 weeks but realizing that many still have teens at home, jobs to do, and running from one scheduled event to another, we try to balance out the events so that you can easily make some, if not all, in a calendar year.  Sound like a group you would like to take part in?  Call the church office and ask for more information or when the next event will take place.   We’d love to see you there!

Young @ Heart Seniors

Becoming a senior isn’t for the faint of heart and not all seniors are created alike.  For some, they are ready to slow down, drop a gear and take life one day at a time.  For others, they are still very active, ready for the next challenge and enjoy planning ahead.  Whatever your case may be, if you are a senior that enjoys spending time with other seniors, then you’ll want to get involved with our Young @ Heart Seniors of Grace Bible Church.

Worship Ministry

Grace Bible Church worship team consists of Musicians, Singers, Sound and Media Technicians.  Here at Grace, we believe that you have already been called by God to be part of praising and worshipping His name and that, is why we encourage and enjoy corporate worship.  We were chosen by Him before the foundations of the earth.  Our whole life is a continual preparation into the calling He has called us to. Team ministry mean we give time to this sacred purpose where we connect with God. Worship team ministry requires personal sacrifice of our time and commitment.  If this is something that interests you and you feel called to be a part of, please speak with our Worship Arts Director, Francois Vermeulen for more information.

Volunteering Opportunities
We all know the adage ‘Many hands make light work’.  Well the same in true in a church setting but, we also have the biblical principle of 1 Corinthians 12: 14-31 to help guide us.  The church is One Body with Many Members.  Together, with all of us doing what God has gifted and called us to do, make up the true body of Christ in the church.  To learn how you can get involved, simply speak to a pastor, elder, board or staff member today!
