What denomination is Grace Bible Church?
As we are two churches that have recently merged ("The Mennonite Church of Vernon" and "Cornerstone Bible Church") we have committed to being a "non-denominational" church for at least two years to see where the Lord leads us. In the meantime, we are 100% committed to teaching the Word of God as well as daily seeking His will for Grace Bible Church and our lives individually in a spirit of obedience and willingness to go where He leads.
What time is your Sunday service?
Sunday morning at 10:30 am but we do have smaller, mid-week gatherings. Visit the “Care Group” section to learn more.
Do I have to dress up?
No. Our congregation consists of those who dress casually to those who love to wear a suit and tie. We appreciate the effort of those who take the time to dress their best yet we would rather have you come dressed the way you feel most comfortable. God's word states that it is man who looks on the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7.
What is the Sunday service like?
Our service is a great time of celebration in which we seek to uplift and magnify the name of the Lord our God and at the same time be inspired and encouraged to live for Him through solid Bible teaching.
We have singing first for about 20 minutes then our Pastor teaches from God's word for approximately 30 minutes. The messages are expositional, relevant and powerful as they seek to deliver what is on God's heart for our congregation that week.
We believe Grace Bible Church is a place where people looking for answers and the mature worshipper alike find a place to call home.
What style of music is used?
Our music is a balance of current worship music along with timeless hymns. As our singing lasts about 20 minutes, our worship team leaders pick around 6 songs (usually 4 contemporary songs with 2 hymns) and package them together in a way that flows beautifully in a God-honouring way; never repetitious or lacking in musical quality.
What do I do with my children?
Children stay in the service during the singing and once the singing is finished are dismissed for Sunday School (for children ages 2 to 6).
Nursery is available for infants to age 2 and is located at the back of the sanctuary on the left-hand side as you enter the front doors.
Do you have a Children's Ministry?
Yes. Please see the Ministries section for more details on this ministry or contact the church office.
Am I expected to give money?
Not at all. Before the Pastor gives his message we take up an offering which is an act of worship and thanksgiving for the believer. Those who are visiting are never expected to give though they can - this decision is up to the visitor.
